Carl's Jr. serves up foot-long cheeseburger

The pressure to go big has finally hit Carl's Jr. The chain is currently testing "Footlong Cheeseburgers" at several California locations. The test launch comes just after KFC introduced its Double Down sandwich, and Sonic's release of its Footlong hot dog Quarter Pounder Coney.

The giant cheeseburger sells for $4 (plain) and $4.50 (deluxe: lettuce, tomatoes, onions). The burger basically mimics a sub sandwich with more ingredients and extra patties. The to-go bags at California test-stores aren't large enough to hold such a massive footlong burger; making it an awkward sight, but impressive marketing nonetheless.
