Carnival Cruise Sale, Get Cash Back

Carnival Cruise Lines has launched a new cash-back sale offering up to $160 per cabin and "best available" upgrades.

The "1-2-3 Go!" promotion is available on most of the line's three- to eight-day cruises, August through February. Cruise destinations include The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Bookings must be made by July 30. The offers apply to "Fun Select" rates.

The cash back is in the form of a shipboard credit passengers can use for drinks or other items and services. The credit is $80 for cruises of three to five days, and up to $160 on longer sailings.

The line said any unused funds will be returned to guests at the end of the cruise in the form of a check.

Carnival, the Big Kahuna of the cruise industry with 22 ships, launched a similar cash-back deal in June, but the new offer is more expansive.

The upgrade is an additional perk and applies to new bookings for categories 4A and higher and to specific cabin types - ocean view to better ocean view, balcony to better balcony.

Other cruise lines including Princess and Norwegian Cruise Line have also launched big sales in the past week.
