Trade in your vuvuzela for a free sandwich at KFC

Updated

Squawk your vuvuzela one last obnoxious time in honor of the World Cup 2010, then trade it in for a free Doublicious sandwich at KFC.

Under the terms of KFC's "Vuvuzela Exchange Program," the first 500 people to send in a vuvuzela by July 15, 2010 will receive vouchers for a free sandwich. Send your nasty noisemaker into:

KFC Corporate Headquarters
Attention: Vuvuzela Exchange Program
1900 Colonel Sanders Lane
Louisville, KY 40213

Remember to include a return mailing address so KFC can send you a $5 gift check. KFC's Doublicious sammy contains a sweet and savory (hence the duplicity) boneless chicken fillet on a sweet Hawaiian Bread bun. Who knew a loud piece of plastic could double as comfort food?

Caveats: You must be a legal resident of the 50 United States or Washington D.C. to participate.

Folks at KFC have talked about melting down the vuvuzelas and making them into ear plugs. "The main thing is to get those noisy vuvuzelas out of circulation and get people eating tasty sandwiches instead," said spokesperson Rick Maynard. "We think that's a pretty good trade." If KFC is overrun with vuvuzelas, they may consider issuing more coupons, Maynard said.
