ESPN's controversial special featuring basketball superstar LeBron James revealing where he would play next season garnered an overnight Nielsen rating of 7.3, according to the Walt Disney-owned (DIS) cable channel.

That means that 7.3% of all TVs in use were tuned in to hear James announce that he would leave his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. One rating point represents about 1.15 million households. Overnight ratings include only the 56 Nielsen-metered markets and are subject to change as the data are analyzed. Rarely are they the final ratings, though they're a good barometer of a show's popularity.
