Wellpoint glitch exposes data to public

For the second time in two years, the health insurance company Wellpoint is having trouble keeping data private. The latest incident occurred in March, when a glitch in a computer program exposed data like credit card numbers, medical records from 470,000 customers. The glitch was revealed in a lawsuit by a customer who was able to access data by manipulating web addresses and call up sensitive information. The glitch was fixed in March after it was discovered but the company is now alerting customers.

The last Wellpoint data breach was in 2008, when the company lost a CD with the record of 75,000 people.
