As the nation readies for a traditionally explosive Fourth of July holiday weekend, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of potentially dangerous fireworks.

Big Fireworks of Lansing, Mich., in cooperation with the CPSC, is recalling 4,700 Super Lightning Rockets. The commission says the rockets exceed federal standards for pyrotechnic composition, which could result in a larger-than-expected explosion and burn anyone nearby. No injuries have been reported.
