Even in a Wimbledon marathon, pro tennis pays

While we admire the endurance and fortitude of John Isner of the United States and Nicolas Mahut of France in their 11-hour, 5-minute Wimbledon match spread over three days and 183 games, WalletPop would like to point out that they weren't playing for drinks at the local pub.

Even the loser, Mahut, earned $16,801.87 (£11,250), the prize money for exiting in the first round. That's more than $1,527 an hour. Park Avenue shrinks would sell their id for that rate. Isner pocketed at least $28,003 for advancing to the second round.
