New York's Naked Cowboy Complains About Naked Cowgirl Competition
Naked Cowboy, whose real name is Robert Burck, has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Sandy Kane, a bikini-clad woman who calls herself Naked Cowgirl, The Associated Press reports.
Burck says he has a trademark on Naked cow-folk, and Kane, in her 50s and a former stripper, is violating that by wearing a red, white and blue cowboy hat to match her bikini, and trying to make money posing for photos in that getup.
He wants Kane to sign a "Naked Cowboy Franchise Agreement." Franchisees, Burck says, pay $5,000 a year or $500 a month and go through a screening process.
For her part, Kane, whose real name is Sandra Brodsky, maintains she doesn't owe Burck a dime.
