Tax call life-saver for man in Kentucky having heart attack

A call from the state tax department saved Earl Phillips life. The call came on May 26 from Natalie Brown, an employee of the Kentucky Department of Revenue. During their conversation, brown noticed that Phillips was breathing heavily -- apparently in need of medical assistance. She then verified Earl's address in Frankfort, Kentucky and called emergency responders who rushed to his home. It turned out that Earl Phillips suffered a heart attack while discussing his tax bill with Brown. Her response was praised by Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear. Doctors placed a stent in Phillips' heart to ease a 90% blockage in one of his arteries.
