The boys belts were sold under the Cherokee brand and the girls belts were Circo brand. The boys' belts are black and brown reversible while the girls are pink and white with heart buckles.
Target sold about 105,000 of the Chinese-made belts between December 2008 and December 2009 and $7-$9.
The Cherokee belts came in two-packs and were embossed with the following numbers: 02/08/0018, 202/08/0019 or 202/08/0020.
The Circo belts also were sold in two-acks and on the label inside the belt carried the following numbers: 202/05/0071, 202/05/0072, 202/05/0073 or 202/05/0074.
The CPSC asks that consumers stop using the belts and return them to the nearest Target store for a refund. For more information, call Target at (800) 440-0680 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
