Harry Potter Actors Celebrate New Attraction

Stars of the Harry Potter movies were out in good number last night to celebrate the Grand Opening of "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" attraction at Universal Orlando Resort.

Hundreds of people joined Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry"), Rupert Grint ("Ron") and their cohorts for a spectacular display of fireworks in front of the mini-park's Hogwarts school.

The pyrotechnics and projected scenes from the movies were coordinated to a special performance of music from the Harry Potter films, conducted live by renowned composer John Williams.

Also in attendance at the festivities was Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, according to the Orlando

Wizarding World is a live version of fictional Hogsmeade, complete with shops selling broomsticks, magic wands and butterbeer.

The Sentinel reports Radcliffe appeared onstage with other actors and urged the audience to "present" their magic wands to get the festivities started.

The $200 million, 20-acre attraction officially opens to the public on Friday. The mini-park, which also has three rides, is included in admission to Islands of Adventure.
