Tech Take: iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Starting at Best Buy, Radio Shack

Updated

Consumers on the market for Apple's (AAPL) highly anticipated iPhone 4 can begin placing pre-orders at Best Buy (BBY) and Radio Shack (RSH) on Tuesday, June 15, the companies said Monday. The new phone will officially hit stores on June 24th. Wal-Mart (WMT) will also carry the device, but hasn't announced a pre-order date.

"Adding the iPhone 4 to our stores, alongside other great smartphones like the HTC EVO from Sprint and HTC Incredible on Verizon, gives customers a great opportunity to view each side-by-side and get the mobile phone that works best for them," said Shawn Score, president of Best Buy Mobile.

The new iPhone 4 was announced last week and costs $199 for a 16-gigabyte model and $299 for a 32GB version.
