Reinventing yourself with Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina

There are a lot of laid off people out there contemplating second acts these days, so maybe the new trajectories of former eBay CEO Meg Whitman and former HP CEO Carly Fiorina can serve as some kind of example. The two women made it through California's primary elections yesterday and will be running for office.

Whitman, 53, will be the Republican candidate for governor running against Attorney General Jerry Brown, while Fiorina, 55, will be running as a Republican for the Senate, against Barbara Boxer. As the first time two women are at the top of the ticket in that state, they can also serve as an example for women of a certain age and what they can achieve.
