Friday Freebies: free ice cream, donuts, movies, and dog treats

Updated

Load up on free food and treats with free donuts, ice cream, and granola. Plus, there are a slew of free movie showings for kids (G and PG flicks), free dog treats, a subscription to Maxim magazine, and a packet of free seeds to start a garden. What a way to start the weekend!

Today, Friday June 4 is National Donut Day and to celebrate Krispy Kreme is giving away free donuts to anyone who stops in. No purchase is necessary and you can pick any variety of donut you fancy. If one doesn't satisfy your sweet tooth, or if you do not live near a Krispy Kreme, head over to Dunkin' Donuts for a free donut when you purchase any beverage. Make sure your local shop is participating. One per person. For a three-question true or false quiz on donuts, go here.

Get a free scoop of ice cream at Friendly's this Saturday, June 5, 2010 as part of Free Ice Cream Day. The freebie also marks Friendly's 75 years in business. Stop by between 12-5 p.m. at participating Friendly's restaurants for the free treat. Last year the chain gave out 500,000 free scoops of ice cream. I'm not sure if soft serve is included.
