Beyoncé Designs Your Bedroom
The "Déjà Vu" songstress is already following in the "J-Lo mega-career path" with a line of clothes, perfumes, and sunglasses to her credit, along with her hits. Now, she's expanding her merchandising empire to interior design. The focus will be on bedroom furnishings described as a cross between glamour and cutting-edge.
The designs will be produced by the fashion line House of Deréon in partnership with Arrow Home Furnishings. Beyoncé runs House of Deréon with her mother and business partner, Tina.
What will the design collection include, and might the bedroom line appear in an upcoming hit song or video?
The collection will consist of European inspired prints and colors, bohemian patchwork pieces, metallic threads, diamond quilt stitching and feminine dressmaking details -- mirroring the design aesthetic of the House of Deréon and the Deréon apparel lines.
You'll be able to snag these bedroom accessories through department stores and home furnishing stores. Bedding and home furnishing from the House of Deréon line will range from $149.99 to $199.99, while the Deréon line bedroom furnishings will range from $49.99 to $99.00.
Plans include an eventual expansion into bath accessories, towels, and table linens.
Deréon was the maiden name of Beyoncé's grandmother Agnèz Deréon. Her grandmother's married name, Agnèz Beyincé, inspired the singer's first name. The collection will be sold with the tagline "Couture. Kick. Soul" to represent the three generations of women.
Listen up: The bedding might get named-checked, too. Beyoncé's line of jeans worked their way into her 2009 hit song, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" with the lyric, "Got me tighter than my Deréon jeans." It won't be surprising if the bedroom furnishings make their way into a sexy bedroom-themed video or song, too.
How about: "Roll me cross those Euro sheets / Couture. Kick. Soul. / Gimme some of them (bedroom beats) ..."
Ya feelin' it yet? Beyoncé, if you're reading, RentedSpaces writers are at the ready for any future lyrics.
