Face-Off on Stocks: Google, Apple and Ford

Updated

As the markets swoon, DailyFinance's Nikhil Hutheesing and Dan Burrows face-off in just over 4 minutes about the future direction of the economy and discuss the future of stocks. For investors with a long-term horizon both agree on one thing: There are opportunities for those who can stomach a volatile ride.

On stocks, is Google (GOOG) a buy? Its shares are down nearly 30% from their high for the year, making the stock appealing on a fundamental basis. But what about the long-term business prospects for the company?

The two also give their "thumbs up, thumbs down" opinions on Apple (AAPL). The stock, which is up nearly 20% so far this year, has a lot of momentum right now thanks to sales of its iPad tablet and of course, its iPhone. But can it go higher?

Finally, Burrows and Hutheesing have differing views on the shares of Ford Motor Co. (F). Burrows points out that Ford is back to making cars that people want to buy while Hutheesing says he need more time before putting his money back into the U.S. automobile sector.
