I spent yesterday at the FinovateSpring 2010 conference, where many financial and banking companies are launching their latest technologies. I'm always on the look out for things that will make our financial lives easier, so I wanted to highlight two new developments. I think both will be very helpful to investors.

The first, from Wikinvest, is Hurricane. CEO and founder Parker Conrad presented this new tool at the conference and said it's coming within weeks. The product will get earnings data to interested investors -- via their email -- in "seconds or milliseconds."

For context, Conrad says investors will get this information not only 15 to 30 minutes before the conference call, but two to three minutes before it hits Bloomberg terminals, 20 minutes before it hits the financial networks and up to a week or two before it hits Yahoo! Finance. It will also provide context as far as whether the numbers beat expectations.

Retirement Funds: Rollover Wave

The second came from presenter Tim Harrington, CEO of eRollover. Their new service offers fee and performance comparisons if you're rolling over retirement funds. The product is available right now, and it's free. Harrington said Americans roll over $250 billion in retirement funds each year, and they're now changing jobs 10 times over their careers. Having this information available at your fingertips makes it easy to decide which financial institution is the best recipient of your funds.

Harrington also talked a lot about building community and eventually being able to make comparisons among your peers regarding both performance and fees. That's all in the future.

Disclosure: I'm here as a reporter, but I'm also here to launch two new products that I've developed to help you manage your credit score and debt. For more on these, check out my website, jeanchatzky.com.
