Save Time Standing in Line with the Q-bot


There's nothing worse than standing in line under the hot sun at theme parks – and one company is trying to help park goers maximize their time.

The Q-bot, a handheld device already used at several locations, allows users to reserve a spot in line from anywhere in the park. The tiny device also communicates ride delays and breakdowns, saving visitors time and frustration.

The device usually costs a few dollars to rent, but once in your hands you can easily scroll through the list of rides to see estimated wait times. Once you choose a ride, just press a button and see a reservation confirmation on the screen.

If you decide you want to cancel the reservation, you can change your itinerary with the click of a button.

Lo-Q, the company who designed the Q-bot, also developed a program for theme parks called Text-Q that allows visitors to reserve a place in line via text message. Simply send a text with the number of guests to a reservation number, and then receive a confirmation that your place has been saved.

Theme parks using the Q-bot and Text-Q allow visitors to enter rides through a separate entrance. Visitors simply walk up and show the ride operator a reservation confirmation and then hop on the ride.

The Q-bot is used at all 11 major Six Flags parks in North America, as well as Legoland Windsor and Dollywood.
