Free Mint.com Android app connects to 16,000 financial institutions
The new Mint.com app is already available on the Android Marketplace and is free for all users, just like the Mint.com service. The Mint Android app works on pretty much any android device, even those running older software versions like 1.5 and 1.6, and comes with several cool features that are only available in the Android Mint.com app. These features are in addition to allowing users to view their attached bank accounts, monitor spending in categories, edit transactions and more.
Mint.com Android app special features.
- OS Search -- search for recent transactions anywhere.
- Mint.com widget -- place a snapshot of your cashflow right on your phone's homescreen; updated in real time.
- Android Live folders -- Get financial updates right on your home screen without launching the app.
The Mint.com Android app has its own built in password protection so you don't need to worry about someone who is using your phone looking into your banking information and the app's access can be remotely disabled from the Mint.com website if it is lost or stolen. This is a great tool for monitoring your banking info on the go, especially since many small to medium sized banks don't offer easy mobile access for the Android platform.
Thanks to the fact that Mint can now connect with more than 16,000 financial institutions, which includes the top 20 most requested, it is easier than ever to know the state of your finances; and that should help you make smarter shopping decisions and avoid costly bank fees.
