Gap issues recall of baby swimsuits over choking risk
The CPSC said the swimsuits' straps are too short, causing a plastic ring at the neck of the suit to press against the child's throat.
About 7,000 of the suits sold in the U.S. and Canada are subject to the recall. Gap told the CPSC that two customers complained about the problem, but no injuries have been reported.
The suits, made in Indonesia and China, were sold in Gap (and its related stores) and online between February and April 2010 for $17-$20. Two styles were sold:
706260, which is blue and white, and 700452, which is red and white. Sizes were up to 24-months.
If you have one of the swimsuits, do not let a child wear it and return it for a full refund to the place of purchase.
