FarmVille, Pet Society and other Facebook games go green for Earth Day

Today is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day -- the annual day designed to build awareness and appreciation for the environment. Organizations and communities pull together and hold events to let people know ways they can help preserve this blue and green orb we're happy to call home.

That awareness has spread to the Web, and more importantly, to FarmVille, Pet Society and our other favorite social games. We've seen everything from a limited edition Forbidden rice crop to a limited edition teddy bear in Pet Society.
