Sweet San Francisco Rental: Archstone Fox Plaza $1,605 - $2,440

I know this apartment building well. It's right next to my post office on Market Street. I pass it almost every day. There's a Starbucks right next to the entrance. So if you like Starbucks coffee and mailing things, then living at the Archstone Fox Plaza could be a real plus.

The locale is pretty central as you're situated perfectly between the Orpheum Theatre and Yerba Buena Gardens in the Civic Center neighborhood. But beware that what you get with a central locale is the grittiness of Market Street, which can get pretty hairy (and bad smelling) at certain points. But the Archstone Fox Plaza apartments come with a lot of amenities when it comes to one- and two-bedroom living scenarios.

So what do you get? Studios start at $1,605 with 450 square feet and two-bedroom/one-bathroom apartments with 814 square feet go for $2,440. If you ask me, that sounds a bit pricey for a locale where you have to deal with Market Street on a daily basis. Plus the square footage seems really small. You could easily find a one bedroom in that same area for under $2,000.

But the Archstone Fox Plaza offers newly renovated apartments that include granite countertops, Pergo flooring, and balconies with breathtaking city views. There's also that Starbucks downstairs and the post office next door. Plus underground parking and a fitness center are pretty good perks, too.
