Sweet San Francisco Rental: SOMA Area from $1,840

The rental ad reads: In the heart of San Francisco! Steps to Union Square and the Financial District!

Not exactly. Though this apartment building is in
San Francisco's fashionable South of Market - SOMA - neighborhood, it's still about 7 or 8 blocks from Union Square if you want to journey on foot through some sketchy parts of town. Still SOMA is a great neighborhood in itself and the Archstone South Market apartment building seem to have a lot going for it. The building is close to the Bay which makes for an easy commute to the East Bay, and it's situated next to
Moscone Market & Deli, Pazzia authentic Italian Trattoria and Bong Su Restaurant & Lounge.

Okay, here's the scoop: Archstone South Market Apartments offers a range of one to three-bedroom dwellings. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments start at $1,840 and offer 564 square feet. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom situations run up to $3,030 and offer 1,136 square feet. The prices are about average for comparable apartments in the SOMA area, but you've got to consider the square footage is a bit cramped.

Still, the complex offers luxuries such as a pool, fitness center, covered parking, and a private landscaped courtyard, not to mention a wonderful view of the city and Bay.
There's even on-site laundry facilities, dry cleaners, florist, shoe repair, nail and beauty salon, and dentist. (Do you knock on his door when you need a root canal?)
