New Booking Site Makes Flying Australia Easier
The site, Wotflight.com, was started last month and searches for flights among dozens of Australia's commercial airports. Wotflight.com even includes smaller domestic airlines that other larger sites might overlook, like Brindabella and Aeropelican.
While searching lesser known carriers and off-the-beaten-path airports can sometimes provide steep discounts, it's not always the case. Travelers will still have to consult with other travel sites to ensure they're getting the best deal, since Wotflight doesn't currently search prices across all carriers. Wotflight also charges a booking fee of 16.95 Australian dollars (about $15.50 USD).
The site was launched as a sister site to Wotif.com, an accommodations booking site based in Brisbane. Customers who book flights using Wotflight will receive a voucher that amounts to 10 Australian dollars, which can be used immediately to discount a hotel stay booked through Wotif. Customers also have the choice to save the vouchers, collecting them to cash in for an entire trip.
While the site currently focuses only on flights within Australia, the company hopes to expand its reach in the future.
"We have Australian domestic flights on offer initially," the line said in a statement, "and will be progressively launching Trans-Tasman and an international booking service."
