GameSpy pokes fun at Facebook gamers, status updates

The great thing about being at the Game Developers Conference is you get to listen to a lot of smart people talk about the game industry and how the popularity of social games is changing its direction. The bad thing about being at the Game Developers Conference is you don't really have time to read the internet and keep up with all the goings on in the virtual world. Case in point, this hilarious GameSpy "Facebook Games translation" piece, which went up a week ago but I just noticed today.

Each status update "translation" is a slightly different take on the same overall theme: that Facebook games are only played by recent college/high school graduates with failed personal lives and addictive personalities, Of course, we all know that's not really true, but I think we can all think of at least a couple of Facebook friends that use their games to escape from the real world a bit too much. And really, why would you play Bowling Buddies if you had actual bowling buddies?
