Pizza and restaurant coupons prove popular

Pizza delivery coupons RetailMeNot shoppers saved roughly $750,000 using the 24,000 printable coupons available for food in January, with 12,000 of those coupons just for pizza. Food coupons are so popular they took the No.1 spot in January, followed by searches for restaurant at No. 3, sit-down restaurants at No. 7 and dining coupons at No. 10.

It's not just printable pizza coupons that are popular; RetailMeNot also has about 500 coupon codes for close to 90 pizza shops, including big names like Domino's, which was the No. 3 most-searched-for store in RetailMeNot's online coupon database; losing out only to Amazon and Victoria's Secret. Papa John's, my favorite chain pizza place, also made the list at No. 7.

For me, the best part about online ordering isn't avoiding being put on hold, it's that I can search for online coupons at my favorite pizza places and save without hanging onto flyers or looking in the local paper, which is really nice since I haven't had one delivered in four years.

If you order a pizza without a coupon, I guarantee you're spending too much. The average pizza shopper saved $6.29 at Papa John's, $8.13 at Domino's and $5.55 at Pizza Hut.

Current pizza coupons on RetailMeNot include;
  • Free Cheese Bread from Papa John's
  • Free large, one-topping pizza with the purchase of an extra large specialty pie from Papa John's
  • 20% off your first online order at Pizza Hut
  • Free sandwich with a large pizza purchase at Domino's
Sure, a delivered pizza may cost more than the frozen variety, but with coupons for extra pizzas and more toppings, I am often able to stretch a large pizza into several meals, making it a deliciously good deal.
