University Hall at the Stafford, VA campus of the University of Mary Washington (UMW) was bustling with people yesterday, anxious to get in to the Mark Warner federal job fair. The fair which had a reported 5,000 people pre-registered, drew over 7,000 people once walk-ins were added, sending the line to get into the fair all the way around the building. The fair began at 9a.m, but by noon there were already 4,000 people onsite trying to gain access to the building and the 12 plus federal agencies that were at UMW scouting out talent, and folks began to be turned away, even if they were pre-registered. For the people not let in after capacity was met, they were allowed toe lave their resumes with a job fair concierge at the door. The Stafford County Sherriff's Department was called in to help with crowd control and traffic.
