If you love the Dollar Tree, here's a contest for you
The folks at Dollar Tree want you to tell them why you love your Dollar Tree by putting it in writing, making an audio or video file or expressing it in a picture to win up to $1,250 in cash.
The entry deadline is March 21, after which the public is invited to vote on the best entry in each category. You must be a legal resident of the U.S. and at least 18 years old to enter.
First, you will need to register by filling out the online form. Then you'll be all set to submit a "creative and compelling entry"that shows why you love Dollar Tree. You can produce a video that's a minimum of 10 seconds and up to 30 seconds or an mp3 audio within the minimum of 10 seconds and maximum of 30 seconds. Note that any song lyrics must be in English.
Writers can submit a poem or a story of 140 characters to 1,000 characters and, again, entries must be in English.
The last category and I suspect, the most popular, is to submit a photo or drawing that expresses your love of Dollar Tree. Pictures can be sized from a minimum of 10 kilobytes to 150 kilobytes.
You'll need to check the official rules to be sure that your audio, video or image submissions are in an approved format. You can enter the contest in all four categories, if you want, but you can only enter once in each category and make sure you are using the same name and e-mail address for all of your entries. Also, only one of your entries can be named as a finalist.
Once your entry is verified, it will be posted online. If you click on the gallery button, you can see entries that have already been posted.
The voting period begins March 23 after midnight and ends April 2, during which time the public is invited to vote on their favorite entries in each category. You are limited to one vote per computer IP address per entry per day. Better stick to the rules if you don't want your vote to be disqualified.
There will be one grand prize awarded in the form of a check for $1,000 and one finalist prize per category given to the entrant who receives the highest number of votes in their category. Each finalist prize will be $250.
