Tiki Farm Cheats & Tips: Getting started guide

Playdom's Tiki Farm is a game similar to Farm town or FarmVille. However, in Tiki Farm, farming is just one feature of a game that is in my opinion, easier to use and more fun to play.

1. Set up your Island avatar.
You can choose skin color, hair color/style, nose, lips and outfit. There are quite a few different combinations. Do some experimenting and you will not be disappointed with the way it turns out!

2. Start to harvest and Plow.
Tiki Farm will start you out with a couple of trees and six plots that are ready to be harvested. First harvest those to make a pretty penny. Then plow the harvested fields in addition to six other fields. You will have a total of 12 plots now. In this game you are not able to have as many plots as the other farming games, but it gives you a chance to hone your skills.

3. Plant as much as you can.
At first you will only be able to plant Mushrooms. These only take 15minutes to grow and turn a decent profit. Unlike other Facebook farming games, in Tiki Farm your crops and trees never spoil or whither.

4. Use Fertility Dolls when you can.
When you start out on Tiki farm they give you a few gifts. Two of them are fertility dolls, which can really come in handy. You can also purchase fertility dolls from the store. These dolls help your crops grow faster---which gets you money faster! This in turn also helps you level up faster.

5. Plots.
There are two ways to get more plots, but there is only one way for a while. When you level up you get awarded more plots which enables you to get more money and crops. So the more you play and plant, the more you get to plant and play!

6. Friends!
Like most games on Facebook, the more friends you have the better. Once you have 6 friends you can buy more plots. That means you don't have to wait to level up to get a few more plots. Then once you have 10 friends you can get even more. You can also send gifts to friends and get gifts in return. Never underestimate the power of friends in Facebook games and Tiki Farm is no exception.

7. XP or Experience Points.
You can get XP in various ways. The more you get, the higher level you become and the more you are able to do in Tiki farm. You get XP when you harvest, plow, plant, buy things from the store and help/visit friends.

8. Have fun!
This Facebook farming game is different than the others because it is on your own private Island. Everything is themed accordingly so be sure to have fun while playing. Personally, I like to place my lounge chair and boom box on the grass by the beach. You can do almost anything with your island, think of it as a blank canvas. Buy more trees, critters, fences, building and other decorations to make it your own. Plus, the more you buy the more XP you get, so you're rewarded for having fun!
