Rapper Lil Wayne Lists South Beach Condo, Off to Jail
Lil Wayne, is trying to unload his condo in South Beach's Murano Grande for $2.79 million, while he heads to the slammer after being convicted of gun possession.
Rapper Lil Wayne -- a.k.a. Dwayne Carter, Jr. -- bought the 4-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 3,990 square-foot condo in August 2007 for $3.1 million and it features as much bling as his diamond-grill-filled mouth. (Check out the photo of Murano Grande's lobby at left.)
He doesn't seem to be concerned with taking a loss. Although his four kids -- with four different women -- could have comfortably lived in the condo. After all, he's been known to live with all of them under one roof in the past.
The condo's lavish enough to suit anybody's taste, its list of amenities is as filled as his body is tattooed. A private elevator unloads onto the floor. The master suite and its terrace overlook the Intracoastal Waterway as well as a windowless library/media room. A pair of walk-in closets, a small dressing room and oversized spa tub complete the bedroom. The condo also has a kitchen and family room that spill out onto another terrace (there's a trio of them in the place), appropriately named the breakfast terrace.
Turns out that Wayne, isn't doing a complete disappearing act from South Beach. He's leasing a significantly larger property, this time a private home, on swanky La Gorce Island. At a whopping 15,101-square-feet, the three-story waterfront mansion beats out the condo with nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms (nine full and two half baths). Guess Wayne's trying to live large before heading to his new - ahem - tighter digs in the slammer.
