We just checked our news feed and saw big news come across the wire - Mafia Wars has opened up its own marketplace.

This is a logical progression for Zynga's micro-transation business. By creating a sanctioned marketplace - Mafia Wars will protect itself from having a secondary market of items being created outside of Zynga's control. This very likely will be the first of many marketplaces opening across other Zynga owned properties like FarmVille and Cafe World.
