Private Equity Firms Taking SkillSoft Private

Updated

In fits and starts, the private equity market is making a comeback, at least for smaller deals below $2 billion. Just look at today's buyout: SkillSoft's (SKIL) management has agreed to take the company private in a $1.1 billion.

The private equity sponsors include Berkshire Partners, Advent International and Bain Capital Partners. There was no disclosure regarding the financing on the deal. Whatever the debt involved, it looks like the transaction is fairly cheap.
