BevMo nickel wine sale is on!

Bev Mo's nickel wine sale is on! During the sale when you buy two bottles of the same exact wine, the second bottle is $.05. Some 200 bottles are part of the sale, starting at $8. Not bad, as long as you make sure the price of the first bottle is not inflated.

To check prices, either bring in flyers from other stores (kind of tacky) or use the Drync Wine App on your iPhone or iPod Touch. There is a free version or you can upgrade for $5. I checked the prices of three wines I know the prices of and two times the app was spot on. The price for the third bottle was a bit high, but I'm used to buying it at Costco.

On a related note, if you live near a Trader Joe's check out the La Granja 360 tempranillo from Spain. The bottle has a picture of a pig with a string tied to each hoof. LaGranja is a nice light wine, kind of like a bordeaux, for just $4.

Caveats: gotta join the BevMo free loyalty club to get the discount. Unclear when the sale ends.
