Stimulus Exit: Bernanke Talks Strategy but Not Timing

When Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's stimulus exit strategy was released today, the markets may have been looking for some kind of time frame for when the Fed would start reversing its highly stimulative monetary policy. Bernanke, of course, played that issue very close to his vest, saying -- as he's said many times already -- that the central bank would keep its current rate policy in place for an "extended period." But the chairman did have news for investors, and that came in communicating the methods the Fed will likely use to tighten its monetary policy.
