Britax Blink strollers recalled over finger amputation concerns

Britax is recalling its Blink umbrella strollers over concerns its hinges could cut off the fingers of children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada announced.

This is the third in a growing series of stroller recalls over the same issue involving in some 2.5 million strollers so far.

Maclaren recalled 1 million in November after a dozen children had their fingertips cut off and Graco recalled 1.5 million last month after five fingertip amputations. No injuries were reported with the Britax strollers.

Britax sold about 15,000 of its Chinese-made strollers in the United States and Canada since July for about $150. All versions of the Blink model are subject to the recall.

Stop using the strollers until contacting Britax to get a free stroller hinge cover. Contact Britax at (888) 427-4829 weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time or visit the company's recall Web site.
