Voicemail Witness in NY Realtor Murder
The voicemail was recorded five hours after Stein is believed to have been bludgeoned to death inside her apartment. Prosecutors allege Stein was killed with a weighted yoga stick inside her apartment at 965 Fifth Avenue.
"Hey Linda, it's Natavia," began the message....
The voicemail plays like a rather ordinary-sounding summary of the work day. Lowery reports a call from Stein's ex-husband, wishes Stein well on a property showing, and states her departure from the office at approximately 5:30 p.m. Lowery's brief message ended, "and I'll see you tomorrow."
A Verizon official downloaded the recorded message when subpoenaed by the Manhattan district attorney's office. The time stamp on the voicemail was "Tuesday, October 30th at 6:09 p.m."
Prosecutors charge that Stein was murdered when she confronted Lowery about credit card fraud. It is alleged that Stein had discovered that Lowery had opened credit cards in Stein's name and charged up $30,000 worth of bills.
Yesterday the court presented raw video footage of the Stein's alleged killer, The footage showed Lowery entering and exiting Stein's apartment lobby carrying her purse the day of the murder. If convicted of the murder, Lowery faces 25 years to life in prison.
