History:

Manpower, founded in 1948, has grown to 4,100 offices in 82 countries, and is one of the largest temp companies worldwide. On the retirement of its founder in 1976, the company was acquired by The Parker Pen Company and was spun off as an independent firm again in 1986. In 1987, Blue Arrow (a U.K. staffing firm) acquired Manpower. Finally in 1991, Manpower became independent and remains so today, currently ranked No. 119 in the Fortune 500.
