Baby Boomers (people born between 1946 and 1964) grew up during a prosperous time in American history and witnessed several life changing events including the Cuban missile crisis, the assassinations of JFK, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr., Vietnam, the civil rights movement, sexual freedom, Watergate, Woodstock, and Beatlemania. They viewed education as a birthright, rather than their parents' generation which viewed it as a dream. Boomers were the first generation to experience the disintegration of the typical nuclear family and they were the first generation to be able to use credit cards and adopt a buy now, pay later philosophy. In the world of work they are often pegged as "workaholics" who value the notion of "putting in their time" and making sacrifices for the good of the team.
