Facebook games ask players to hand over email addys

We've known for a while that Facebook was going to kill the notifications for games, and instead players will have to get their updates from FarmVille, Pet Society and more through email instead. When I logged into my Facebook games today, I found the following notifications waiting for me, a sign that the big change will be coming soon.

Of course, as a devoted player, there was no other option than to say "Yes, share my email." Have to admit, though, having my inbox clogged with notifications from boatloads of Facebook apps doesn't exactly seem like the best solution to the problem this change is intended to fix.
