Conan O'Brien and Career Management
I'm sure you've heard that Conan is not going to host The Tonight Show anymore (that's what people are saying, anyway). There is a terrific article in the Harvard business Review blog titled Don't Make Conan's Mistake. It made me think about Conan more as an employee and less as a celebrity.
As you read about the drama you'll see words like "unfair," "messy," and "legal" over and over. They also talk about contractual obligations and other things that YOU probably heard or said when you went through your transition. Your downsizing was probably unfair, messy, or had legal implications, right?
