Playdom trademarks 'Fish Friends'

Stop the presses! Just as we thought we uncovered something big with CrowdStar's Happy Cafe trademark request, we also found out that Playdom filed for "Fish Friends" on January 8, 2010 -- last week!

While I'm sure this crew will make a lovely fish-themed game, we ask on behalf of all Facebook game aficionados -- isn't it time for something a little different?

Zynga also went on a trademarking spree in December for names such as TreasureVille, Safari World, HotelVille and Hotel World. Speaking of hotels, these trademarks and the growing popularity of Facebook game Happy Hotel, we predict hotel simulation games will be all the rage in the coming months.
