Sinkhole Swallows Florida House; Trailer Park Evacuated

Updated

A 10-foot deep sinkhole swallowed part of a home in Plant City, Florida.

According to the Tampa Bay's WTSP, Nancy Regan and her boyfriend found themselves escaping through a back bedroom window as the ground swallowed up their home. Both the Regan's home and a neighboring home have been condemned.

In nearby Polk County, another sinkhole led to the evacuation of a Frostproof mobile home park (left). This sinkhole was estimated to be 40 to 50 feet deep and 30 feet wide, and swallowed several trees but no actual homes.
