Free pancakes at IHOP on Feb. 23

Circle the date, pancake lovers.

IHOP will dole out free pancakes on Feb 23 in honor of National Pancake Day. This is the fifth year that the chain is giving out free pancakes to mark the occasion. Customers can enjoy a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The catch? You are asked to donate the price of the pancakes or more to the Children's Miracle Network hospital in your community or another designated local cause.

Last year, IHOP gave away 3 million pancakes and raised nearly $1.5 million in support of Children's Miracle Network and other local charities, the company said in a release.

So, if you are feeling philanthropic and have the cash to spare, stop by an IHOP location on Feb. 23. But be cautious, about ordering anything extra along with the free pancakes.
