Play iPhone Game, Win VW GTI

Just how popular is the iPhone? Well Volkswagen of America is introducing its new 2010 GTI through the free gaming app, Real Racing GTI. To whet the appetites of VW fans, the app lets players race six different limited edition versions of the automobile. Created by the iPhone racing pros behind Firemint Real Racing, it's a nice way to race the sporty GTI with police interference. While you can play against others locally, the game's only online racing functionality is a leaderboard where you can upload and brag about your racing times.

"The GTI customer is a tech-savvy consumer who enjoys social networking, playing games and spending time on mobile devices - most often an iPhone," said Tim Ellis, Vice President of Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc. "Launching the all-new 2010 GTI via the Real Racing GTI App allows us to connect with this savvy GTI consumer within his or her everyday life in a way that no 30-second spot ever could."

The launch of the game will also revs up VW's other marketing campaign, VW of America is giving away six 2010 GTI MkVI autos to players of the game (more car details here).
