Stocks set for a higher open on earnings optimism

U.S. stocks are poised for a higher open Monday morning as optimism about the earnings season seems to stoke markets higher. A slew of earnings reports is scheduled for this week starting Tuesday, but Dutch conglomerate Philips Electronics (PHG) already surprised to the upside this morning. It seems investors are ready to continue to drive on last week's momentum and strong gains.
