Rock Band for iPhone? Yeah, There's an App for That.

Updated

With all that technology in their iPhone or iPod Touch, owners have wondered why the device that seems to have an app for everything was lacking their favorite pastime, Rock Band. Today, EA, Harmonix and MTV Games ended that wonder by announcing the impending arrival of Rock Band for iPhone/iPod Touch.

As with the classic Rock Band game, players will be able to play guitar, bass, drums or perform vocals but without the need to haul around all those big plastic instruments. While playing solo is good for practice, multiplayer is the true test of one's rock star worth. Thankfully, Rock Band for iPhone/iPod Touch will let 2-4 players form a local band using each device's Bluetooth wireless connectivity. And if the band isn't trapped in your living room, you can use Facebook to catch up with them, or use an in-game message center to alert your virtual band mates about your next gig.

Arriving later this month, the game will come packed with 20 songs from legendary music artists, which players can expand by downloading additional music tracks from the Rock Band Music Store. Pricing for the game or tracks have not been announced yet. Still, we can't wait to rock out to We Got The Beat while waiting at the DMV.
