Holy Cow! Café World's Homestyle Pot Roast Requires 575 Pounds of Beef

Updated

Café World's ultimate dinner, the Homestyle Pot Roast, is not for the weak of heart. But that's not because it's the Blue Plate Special. Taking 48 hours to cook, players have to remember when to serve the mega entrée to their customers.

Then we thought, how much real-world roast would it take to feed 1,150? With just three ingredients, potatoes, garlic and beef, we'd imagine that the result would be quite bland but we did the math. Based on a recipe we found for "Yankee Pot Roast" on AOL Living (selected because it includes all three ingredients). The recipe requires 4 lbs. of chuck beef, 6 potatoes and 2 garlic cloves for 8 servings.

The results are staggering. In order to recreate the same Homestyle Pot Roast for 1,150 people, you'd need 575 lbs. of chuck beef, 288 cloves of garlic and a whopping 862.5 potatoes. According to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, & Forestry, that's just under six cows worth of chuck (each cow has roughly 103 lbs each). The freakiest part? The in-game dish sells for 5,750 and the real-world dish use 575 lbs of beef... coincidence?

One other beef Cafe World players may have with the game is that the real-world roast only requires 1 hour and 39 minutes to complete. So start cooking, you'll be eating the real one long before your customers do.
