OMG! UK Teen Girls Shun Social Games
While a recent study by the UK National Gamers Survey says that boys between the ages of 13-19 play 11 hours of games a week, it also found a shocking statistic, 86% of girls in the UK play online and console (Xbox 360, PS3, DS) games. That's a huge surprise as video games were previously viewed as a male-centric activity.
Yet, teen girls who usually get a bad rap for repeatedly communicating with one another throughout the day were not as interested in social games on services like Facebook, as only 11% of girls said that they played such games.
Which begs an answer to the question, "Who's playing Pet Society then?"
