Gardenscapes: New Hidden Object Game for Green Thumbs

Updated

Gardenscapes, a combination of hidden object, time management and gardening simulation games, makes its debut today on Playrix.com. The goal of this green game -- to create the perfect garden and compete in a 'Best Garden' contest. Earn cash by finding hidden objects, and then spend it on accessories for your garden.

The company responsible for the popular game Fishdom, says they came up with the idea for Gardenscapes after thinking about how many people love tending to their gardens.

"And this is not just about planting flowers and growing vegetables, but about design and imagination," says Playrix Production VP Igor Elovikov. "So we decided to give them a chance to get creative and use their outdoor decor skills, while hunting for hidden items." Read the entire interview here.

Like most other hidden object games, Gardenscapes includes a background story that ties the puzzles together. The player inherits a mansion with a large garden from their grandfather. Once you arrive at the mansion, you find the garden in a sorry state, and organize a big yard sale to make money so you can bring the garden back to its former glory. What would any high-faulting family estate be without a wise-cracking butler? This game includes that too -- Austin, the family butler, will serve as your right-hand man, offering tips and wisecracks to keep the game moving.

Right now the game is exclusively on Playrix.com until November 12, when it will appear on select sites across the Web. Download a free trial or buy the full version for $19.95.
