Kate Hudson Leaving "Titantic" Townhouse
We can't say for sure, but one thing we know: Kate Hudson's gotta leave the 1830 Soho townhouse she's been renting in New York's swanky Charlton-King-VandamLandmarked Historic District because it's on the market.
You only have to cough up $4.95 million (down from $6.25) for this history-rich townhouse. But listen to what you get ...
The red-door, four story townhouse is a "double wide" at 22 feet, with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. Kate must like to cook (or have others cook for her) because she's got a large chef's kitchen. Maybe she's into throwing parties because with a wooden deck overlooking a lovely 50' garden... why not?
If you rent Kate's old place you can enjoy central AC, immaculate cherry wood floors and four wood-burning fireplaces. Just don't expect to see it listed on Craigslist.
Kate's rented townhouse reportedly once housed John Jacob Astor. The Astors made a fortune in animal pelts and opium at the turn of the last century. John Jacob Astor IV, the fourth-named heir, is unfortunately remembered for illicitly knocking up his 18-year-old wife as much as for being the richest Titanic casualty.
Not sure if IV ever lived in Kate's townhouse but one thing is for sure: what celebrity would want to live anywhere but in a rental with a sordid past?
